HEART DISEASE RESOURCES
Building our diets around GREEN-RATED foods can prevent and reverse heart disease. The most common cause of heart disease is atherosclerosis, the buildup of fatty plaques inside the arterial walls. This buildup restricts the flow of blood, increasing pressure and adding unnecessary strain on the heart. Contrary to well-publicized, industry-funded studies, we know that this is caused by diets high in cholesterol (found exclusively in animal products) and saturated fat (found primarily in animal products). In addition to avoiding smoking, the best way to prevent and reverse heart disease is to stop consuming RED-RATED foods and to limit your intake of salt and fat.
