AIR POLLUTION RESOURCES
Building our diets around GREEN-RATED foods helps reduce air pollution. Many food processing steps require shipping products long distances. This is true of most processed foods, but especially livestock, which must also be housed, fed and slaughtered prior to packaging. Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs), otherwise known as factory farms generate enough air pollution to jeopardize the health of neighboring communities, which suffer from higher incidence of asthma and other respiratory problems as a result of standard industry practices. Eliminating RED-RATED foods from our diets helps clean our air.
